- Stop right there!
- CCTV cameras use an ANALOG composite video signal of 1V peak
to peak, not RF to propagate the signal. This matters more than
you would think. RF signal uses aluminum coax to properly send
the rf signal to your TV or other receivers. It is not appropriate
for CCTV or any composite video signal. Always use copper braid,
copper core coax for your composite video from your security
or CCTV cameras. Preferable cable: 95% braid with SOLID copper
core.

- Fire Code affects cable selection
- Plenum rated cable is required for areas which support return
air used in ventilation in buildings. If the return air suction
is in the plenum area, Plenum coax is required. Otherwise standard
PVC Coax is ok. We will expand on this in the future.

- Coaxial Cable Distance
- Typical Selection of cable considers distance of your furthest
cable run. If it is 600-800' max, RG59 coax is usually adequate,
if it going to be further, you may consider going to an RG6 cable.
the Mini coaxial cables are usually used as jumpers or for relatively
short runs of 200' or less.
